Join C3EN Partner ACCESS Community Health Network for Hypertension-Palooza April 19 and 20 at ACCESS Center for Discovery and Learning, 5139 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago. On April 19, a daylong symposium will focus on Community Based Collaborations to Address Blood Pressure Control with a keynote by Paul Munter, PhD, Professor and Chair of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham called, “Hypertension in the U.S. and Chicago: The Problem, Impact on Communities, and Potential Innovative Solutions.” C3EN CSAC member Danielle Lazar will co-present “The QUARTET USA Trial: The importance of Community Based Clinical Trial Partnerships, Results from the Trial, Process Evaluation, and Next Steps.”

At 11:15am, C3EN codirectors Elbert Huang and Elizabeth Lynch, Investigator Development Core codirector Arshiya Baig, and Community Stakeholder Advisory Council members will present “C3EN Chicago: Creating a Collaborative Network of Stakeholders and Researchers to Make Change in Hypertension and Other Chronic Diseases.”

On April 20 from 11am to 2pm, an open community event, Nutrition and Fitness for a Healthy Heart, will share advice on improving heart health, with a welcome and summary of the previous day’s symposium by Lazar, a healthy cooking demonstration by Star Farm, exercise classes, DJ, fresh veggies, kids activities, and more.
